Between Worlds 14 x 11

This original Alcohol Ink painting is part of my Dreamscapes collection. This group of artwork is about quick creation without worrying about perfection. There isn't time to be perfect anyway, the medium dries very quickly and is really difficult to control, forcing me to be in the moment, enjoy the process, and play. In this piece I experimented with a new technique of scraping an old credit card across the surface which created an interesting texture. It almost looks like there is a mirror image happening, though each side has its own unique variations. Between Worlds helps us balance the difference between the ""real world"" where work and responsabilities define us, and the also ""real world"" where dreams and walks in nature is all that matters. Everyone needs a reminder sometimes that at any moment, we can always choose to just go survive in the forest and opt out of whatever stressors the modern day world has wound around us.
