Break Away — Fine Art Print
This is a Giclée Fine Art Print of my original artwork, "Breakaway", part of my Dreamscapes collection. This group of artwork is about quick creation without worrying about perfection. There isn't time to be perfect anyway, the medium dries very quickly and is really difficult to control, forcing me to be in the moment, enjoy the process, and play. However, in this piece, I attempted to break away from my typical free form mountain landscapes and use the medium in a more process and controlled way, despite its aversion to being controlled. I learned that balance between the two CAN be achieved, though it takes much more time, patience, and manipulation of the materials.
I really enjoy how the sky and ocean become one continuous body of color that still somehow splits into sky and sea. It feels very dreamy and gentle to me– like the end of the day when things soften and feel lighter, reminding us that each stressful day also promises to hold us in this gentle space at the end. (This got me through many stressful days when I lived in NYC- where I made thies piece!)
The Details: This premium Giclée Fine Art print is on high-quality, archival paper with a matte finish. The colors are so rich and velvety on the textured paper. It arrives either in a protective poster tube or rigid cardboard packaging with a protective clear sleeve and a backing board to ensure safe delivery. Slight differences may appear due to differences in your screens color settings, but I spend a lot of time testing and matching colors as closely to the original artwork as possible.
Framing Tips: This wall art print is sized to fit common frame sizes. Each print has an additional 1/2 inch border to allow room for easy matting and framing. Give your print visual space by framing it with a white mat. This gives the artwork "breathing room" so your eye can fully take it in without competing with surrounding details in your space. It also makes the whole artwork appear larger in your space. The print looks best with a mat 1.5-2 inches wide for the smaller size or 3-3.5 inches wide for the larger size. A thick dark frame on a small size print can feel too heavy and overpower the artwork itself. Smaller sizes generally look best with a more narrow frame while larger print sizes can look great with either a narrow or with a wider frame.
