Cafe in Avignon IV 10 x 7.5

This is a actually a study from another series that hasn't yet come to fruition, but when I stumbled upon it recently, I was taken by the ethereal sense of light. It immediately reminded me of one of my mother's silk tapestry paintings of a sunset. We’ve both used a similar palette and our own methods for conveying that radiant light. I find it fascinating when our work speaks to each other in a totally unplanned way! This is an original watercolor on paper.
