Phases of Meditation 20 x 16

I created this original oil painting at a turbulent time in my life. I was struggling to find myself on a path that no longer felt like my own. I felt very lonely sometimes, and scared of the leap I knew I must eventually take. I started meditating for the first time in my life and there I found the comfort and hug from the universe that I needed. It's unlike any of my other work thus far and I kinda like that. It's strange and mysterious, yet beautiful. I enjoyed playing with the contrast between flat areas and dreamy, ethereal atmospheres that may remind you of a dream.
