Sierra Vista Sunset 10 1/8 x 8 1/8

This piece was created entirely with soft pastel and is sprayed with a protective pastel fixative. It was created during the period after college when I lived in Arizona. It was exceptionally hot and never rained. One evening coming back from a road trip it began to rain and it was so beautiful to truly appreciate rain in a new way. I loved how the wet road reflected the vibrant sunset and wanted to capture that moment. This artwork is part of my Arizona collection, which I created while living in Phoenix for a summer. I was so inspired by the new color palette of the landscape there and the strange and beautiful plantlife.

This artwork is sold matted and framed, without glass. The frame is thin, metal, and navy blue (with slight purple tint which matches the artwork), as pictured. No glass.
