Calling from Beyond 14 x 11

This original Alcohol Ink painting is part of my Dreamscapes collection.This group of artwork is about quick creation without worrying about perfection. There isn't time to be perfect anyway, the medium dries very quickly and is really difficult to control, forcing me to be in the moment, enjoy the process, and play. This painting is a semi-abstract landscape with a loose rendering that allows the viewer to see different forms. I often aim to create an ethereal atmosphere, inspired by artists such as Odilon Redon. This one certainly feels like the strange and mysterious landscapes of dreams; there yet not quite defined. Warm colors such as these are more of a challenge for me to work with. They are more energetic and bold whereas my typical cool color palette is more peaceful, fluid, and gentle. It's interesting to see how the color palette choice can affect the artwork that comes out in the end.
